Alexe Indigo has recently been named to the Dalhousie’s High-Performance Leadership Program! This cohort of students from across the wider institution – will bring big ideas, deep connections to, and involvement with community and an impressive range of leadership experience to the 2026-2027 academic year.
The HPLP is made possible through the generous support of the McCall MacBain Foundation, whose $3.5-million investment in the Student Leadership Academy has expanded scholarships, mentorship, and learning opportunities for student leaders across Dalhousie. We are so proud that Alexe is being reocgnized in this way!
Beyond her doctoral studies, Alexe has devoted significant time to leading the student food pantry on campus, a resource that supports students experiencing food insecurity. She has been a driving force behind this initiative for years and is now thoughtfully considering new ways to contribute to the wider campus community.
As Alexe’s doctoral advisor, I know that Alexe strives for excellence and approaches challenges with tenacity, kindness and creativity. At the halfway point in her studies, I think this is an ideal moment for her to reflect on her future on campus and within the wider university, and channel her energy into new areas where she can enact meaningful change.
