Alexe Hanlon has joined the lab for the summer. Alexe is completing her Honours research alongside Paul and Dr. Xiaohong Sun, working on a very interesting project about the interaction of botanical dyes and insects!
Alexe’s thesis “The effects of Eurosta solidaginis (Diptera: Tephritidae)-induced stem galls on botanical dyes extracted from Solidago spp.” will combine Alexe’s love of insects, chemistry, and art. Alexe will also be supporting other research projects in the lab. Alexe was awarded an NSERC Undergraduate Research Student Award – a prestigious scholarship that helps students gain research experience. Welcome Alexe, it’s such a pleasure to have you join the lab!
